Zinc plating

Zinc plating is an electrochemical process used to apply a thin layer of zinc to steel components. The zinc coating provides corrosion protection and gives the component a clean, bright finish.
The component is first cleaned and prepared, removing oil, dirt, rust and existing coatings. It is then immersed in a zinc-plating solution and connected to an electrical current. Zinc is deposited onto the surface of the component, forming a protective coating.
The main benefits are:
Excellent protection against rust and corrosion
Attractive, uniform finish
Maintains the dimensions of precision components better than thicker coatings
Suitable for nuts, bolts, brackets, fasteners and many small steel parts.
