Vapor blasting is a cleaning and refurbishment process that uses a mixture of water and very fine abrasive particles to clean and restore metal parts.
The part is placed in a vapour blasting booth where a suspension of water and fine abrasive particles is pumped through a nozzle and propelled onto the surface using compressed air. This gently removes all traces of oxidation, corrosion, dirt, coatings and discolouration.
Vapor blasting is particularly well-suited to the refurbishment of aluminium motorbike parts such as casings, covers, carburettor bodies, fork components, brake calipers, hubs and swingarms.
Its main advantage is that it restores old, oxidised cast parts to their original condition without damaging the original metal due to being much more gentle then dry sand blasting.
